My photo shoot with Josh Ross from his new portrait series, “Small Trades.” You can check out the larger photo here.
The series is based on Irving Penn’s series of the same name. As with much of Josh's work it’s an exploration of the uniqueness of people and how that relates to the rest of their life.
By controlling the variables in a series of images he allow people’s unique character to emerge and contrast with the similarities that Josh have introduced.
In the past Josh have explored people who are yoga practitioners, people who are runners, and now he's exploring the trades that people are a part of.
Great to see you two working together, Josh HAS captured a side of you I didn't know so I'm glad to have found this link via twitter~ otherwise I'd still just know you as the chatty guy from Mayhem HQ (I preseumed your apt) who eats (we got to a lot of the same joints) and checks in (with the dailies at the courthouse I thought you might be a courier!) and RTs headlines + links (so many links!)
